Poetry. Or something like it.
I’ve written poetry off and on throughout my life. Some of it pretty good. Most of it garbage.
What I’ve discovered is that I really like writing in Haiku. And that I’m good at it. Not much of a market, I’d bet but so what. There’s something about the structure that appeals to me. I think it’s because I’m a classicist at heart. And in the hands of a true artist, creating beauty within the structure makes the structure part of the art, be it music or painting or architecture or literature.
If you don’t believe me, go listen to some Beethoven. I highly recommend his 5th Symphony. Then again, who doesn’t.
So there’s your intro. I only provide it for those who may not see the rhythm immediately. As the writer, I would hope that it’s obvious. But sometimes a little sign helps.
