Bad Blogger

So a friend of mine emails me about a post I put up recently.  He is fine with the post itself but as an addendum he lets me know that while I’m a good writer, I’m a terrible blogger.  He supports this assessment as follows:

Your posts tend to be well-composed, thorough, rational explorations of complex topics. You write exemplary essays, which I believe accounts for the long layoff–a well-written essay quite an undertaking, daunting from the front and exhausting from the back, both in healthy and good ways. A blog post has to be a fortune cookie, and updated daily or thereabouts. Hey, don’t blame me, I didn’t forge the 21st century literary paradigm.

And of course, he is right.  Though I disagree that what I’m doing is “wrong” in any way – it’s a new literary paradigm and I can damn well use it any way I like.

That being said, however, the structure and organization of The Velcro Wall may change soon.

What I plan to do is take the longer post entries and move them to pages, organized under Parent pages that define the organization.  In addition, new “essay-type” posts will be added as pages, with the Post section (the stuff visible when you come here) reserved for my short pithy commentary on whatever, or for notices that there are new pages you might want to take a look at.  You know, since you’re here.

Happy?

As always, thanks for coming.
